Every desktop or notebook or web server is run by an Operating System - the low-level program which communicates with the hardware, including peripheral devices such as a mouse or a printer, along with any apps that are present on your system. Any program input through a command line or a Graphical User Interface (GUI) is processed by sending an Application Program Interface (API) request to the OS. On a web server, each and every application runs within the parameters specified by the OS as well - priority, physical memory, processing time, etcetera. This goes for both standard website scripts and server-side software such as a media server. When a virtual server is created on a physical one, there can be two separate Operating Systems, called guest OS and host OS, so that you will be able to set up a different software environment on the same machine.

Multiple OS in VPS Servers

We offer as many as three different Linux distributions for the Operating System of our VPS servers - Debian, CentOS and Ubuntu. These are some of the safest and the most reliable OSs out there and we offer all 3 instead of just 1 as we realize that you might want to install some software that has specific requirements for the Operating System it'll run on. The latter is due to the fact that each of the three Operating Systems has a huge support community behind it and there're various software programs you could install on the web hosting server. Your OS choice will also determine what hosting Control Panel can be set up on the VPS if you would like to use one and for that reason we offer multiple Control Panels too. In the event you decide that you need to have a different OS, our technical support can quickly wipe the existing one and install the one that you need. In addition, we offer an optional service to keep the OS on your VPS updated weekly.

Multiple OS in Dedicated Servers

If you decide to get one of our dedicated servers, you will find three Operating Systems on the registration page since we want to give you a larger choice for the system environment on your server as different applications can have certain requirements. CentOS, Ubuntu and Debian include different modules developed by their large support communities, so you can select any of these OSs and enjoy a stable and risk-free Internet hosting service. Based on your choice, you will also have different Control Panels to choose from. Needless to say, we can always replace the Operating System in case the one you have selected in the beginning does not meet the requirements of the software which you intend to run. We can also upgrade your OS routinely in order to keep it as risk-free as possible through our Managed Services upgrade package.
